Revere Gas President Carlton Revere was recently sworn in as President of the Virginia Propane Gas Association (VAPGA).  While that itself is a significant recognition of the Revere family business that has spanned three generations, Carlton and his family also received the first ever Charles R. Revere Award of Excellence.

The award was created in honor of Charles Ryland Revere, who was an icon in the Virginia and national propane industry for more than 50 years.  Charles, who passed last year, was a former past president of the VAPGA, former chairman of the National Propane Gas Association, recipient of the national association’s Distinguished Service Award and an inductee into the LP-Gas Hall of Fame.  According to the VAPGA, “This Award, reflecting the great pride and high esteem we Virginians had towards Mr. Revere over the years is the highest honor that the VAPGA can bestow upon a member.”

Revere Gas customers and friends already know the commitment the entire Revere family has to customer service, safety and community, and this award is an honor for Carlton to receive as he and the Revere family continue the traditions started by his grandfather and expanded by his father.

The Virginia Propane Gas Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1946 to promote the safe use and handling of propane and propane related products.  The associate members work together to provide a safe environment for the industry, and the Virginia portion of the 60 million customers who use propane annually.
